description Capps Crossing is located on the North Fork of the Cosumnes River. Here, campers can enjoy the fresh smell of conifers and the songs of many birds. A stream runs through the site, adding to the peacefulness of the area. Hiking trails and rock climbing areas are nearby. The Cosumnes River flows from the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada and runs for about 52 miles through California's Central Valley and into the Mokelumne River.
drivingDirection From Pollock Pines, take Sly Park Road (County E16) south 4.3 miles to MormonEmigrant Trail. Turn left onto Mormon Emigrant Trail and go 11.2 miles to North-South Road. Turn right onto North-South Road and go 7 miles to the campground on the left.
facilitiesDescription Capps Crossing is a group site that can accommodate 42 people. Individual sites are arranged in a single loop that forms the group site. Sites 2-5 are for tents only and sites 1, 6, and 7 can fit RVs. Site 11 is a double site that can also be reserved. The campground is designed for groups, but the individual sites may be used on a first-come, first-served basis if unreserved. Individual sites are limited to one vehicle and six people.
